Post subject:  Shirts modeled after space suits...?
I reading the manga, and ya know, just looking at the pretty pictures and such.. (xD) And on the tv, there was a commercial er sumtin of a guy in an astronaut suit (actually it was on the new version of the Romeo and Juliet movie, but details, details xD;;). I noticed a lot of similarites between space suits and the shirts that they wore when fighting aliens. (they may not be EXTREMELY obvious, but theyre there...)

The collar on the overshirt, the way its kinda like, big (o.O). On space suits they have a collar like that...

And the way that the sleeves are stitched, and the way the stripes on their shirts look....

It's hard to explain without a good picture. *sigh* But i knew the creator must of had something clever in mind when he did the costume designs and you know, astronauts....alien hunters...huh, huh? :D.... Yeah.

I'm inclined to think that they're just another version of the typical sports uniform worn in Japan. Which is a T-shirt and shorts. But obviously different schools have different 'styles' to their uniforms. So it's possible more thought went into it than that. I've seen the collar thingy on other versions of the Japanese sports uniform but can't find a very good example at this point in time.
It's an interesting idea though ^^

Hmm... quite true. I'd love to see Hitoshi's failed attempts at creating the prefect Alien-party uniform (if there is any in the first place).

Don't worry, I do it all the time. =)

As for the costume design, I think the uniforms are supposed to be designed after hockey or lacross uniforms.

i agree totally. the thing is where did Hitoshi-sensei come up with the idea for the Alien 9 party outfits? that would be very intersting to find out ^^
