Post subject:  Such An Alien Day [AMV]
I have made an Alien 9 music video. It's a very big file unfortunately. 51.7 MB.
I'm trying to figure out how to upload to the AMV website. @_@ I am not a computer wiz though.
If you'd like to host it or give me an easier way to upload it, that would be much appreciated. Meanwhile I'll try to work this crazy FileZilla thingy. =/
Could I send it through e-mail or is it too big? I have a very bad connection. T-T

Anyway, it's Alien 9 to the DJ Sammy Remix of "Such a Winters Day" and I call it "Such an Alien Day" teehee. XD :cold:

Probably too big for email. Gmail boasts 1gb+ storage but you can only send files of about 10mb or less or something. Of course you could split the file up into smaller parts but its kind of bothersome if you plan on sending more than once...

There's that http://www.animemusicvideos.org/ that you probably mean but I dunno whether they host stuff (never did get used to that site.....)

Aside from that there's some file server services but they are almost always only temporary.

And you could split up the file into smaller parts (using some file splitter program or WinRAR will probably do it) and upload them to separate free webhost accounts. Problem is finding a free webhost that allows .rar or other such files.

Or you could run your own FTP but that would be a big drain on upload....

Personally I reccomend http://www.streamload.com
With a free account you can download at least 100mb so that's enough for your video. And you can upload as much as you like (unlimited storage). But I don't know if a free trial account expires after a certain time. It probably says on the main website.
You'd just need to sign up for a free account, upload the file there. Then whoever else wants it can sign up for a free account and you can "send" it to them (which is more like sending a link so its pretty much instant, in other words you'd only have to ever upload the file once so long as your account stays open of course)

If you manage to work out anything, let us know here, we'd love to see it and I'd like to note it on the main website on the Music Videos page.

It's nice to hear that someone is going to make a music video out of AlienNine. XD I've seen one already, and now I want to see more. *greedy...*

Wish you all the luck for your music video to be a huge success! *hopes it comes out fast*

Actually, I'd like to make one too but my problem is, that I don't have any tool or program to create one. I have a lot of ideas but the work enviroment sucks.

If you have Windows check if you have Windows Movie Maker.
On Windows XP it's under Start > Programs > Accessories

You can use that to make and combine clips together. And add music etc.
Not sure if it opens DVD files though.... But you can probably find a convertor online if not.

I once made a music video with Windows Movie Maker. It was for the pretty easy because it automatically cuts the video up for you, except at some point it started being fiddly, can't remember why though (this was 2 years ago)

Well, actually I have the Movie Maker but in my opinion it's not the best tool to create a AMV, cause you can only safe the videos as a *.wmv

Yeah .wmv isn't that great of a format. It is possible to convert .wmv to .avi and other formats with certain software however if necessary.

Hmm... it seems that you need to be a member of the site in order to download the video. So, in order for us forum members not to just create an account for only downloading the file and discarding the account, I created an account that everyone can use to login and download the file. So please do not abuse the account (since it's under my email address).
