I think it is possible to commit suicide on a wall if you run your body (especially your head) into it hard enough and there is no one around to find you. It's not a good thing either way, though. =(

Sadly, a lot of people who try to commit suicide usually think being dead is better for their loved ones. It's hard to say why Kumi did what she did, but I don't think she felt better at all after the Yellow Knife incident, even though her borg tried to comfort her and tell her that he will be there for her. It's possible that she felt alone even after the whole incident, or that she felt better afterward, but her mother or someone else did something unintentionally to trigger that emotion again.
