I found Alien 9's character designs to be odd at first, but they eventually grew on me. Although I do wonder why they seemed to change halfway through the manga. Or is that just me?

I noticed that too. You can see the character's nose in volume one but the later volumes are more like the anime.
Speaking of character design, it seems the characters also blushes a lot ._.

I love you kumi... just joking! Yep, at first, I thought the animation was weird, then I got used to it(because of the back-up the story brought to the anime)...

I thought their character designs where cute and a little odd when I first saw it. And yes, they do change in the manga.

mm-hmm, yup. They started out looking a little wierd in the first manga, but gradually changed to look more like the anime. I think the third volume has the best art.(basically cause it looks most like the anime *has no imagination*)

Speaking of Emulators, isn't Kasumi a bit short in Emulators compared to the others?

Yeah, but what confuses me is the big difference in their height. At the beginning of the series, there's little difference in their height. But as the series continues, it seems that Kasumi stayed the same while both Yuri and Kumi grew taller. I can put growth spurt as the reason for Yuri's increase in height (which must had happened a lot between volume 3 and Emulators for her to be almost as tall as Kumi) but I doubt Kumi as an alien can grow too.

I think this is already off topic from the main thread, but maybe we could talk about it in another thread...
