I'm really sorry guys. I'm not sure what happened.... I guess the good Google results are attracting alot of robots. After I made that last post in this thread I also cleared out alot of suspicious members that had just joined to get on the Memberlist pages with a weblink (not even to post). There were 3 pages of the pests, now there's 2 or so more pages!
The Off-Topic sectionw as a horrible mess!!
Sad thing is these things use automated steps but I have to get rid of them manually...
I've cleared up and banned any that posted. Unofrtunately I don't know what more I can do to prevent this, I checked and you have to be registered to post in those sections plus to register you need to go through the image verification thingy...
I find it very odd they only posted in General Discussion and Off-Topic. I think that perhaps the forum titles attracted them as they are titles that are pretty common to all forums as being typical talk spots (and the 2 most visited places on most forums). So at the moment I'm just going to try re-wording the forum sections.
If that fails I can't think of much else other than finding a better forum script or upgrading this one somehow... But that will take alot of work to transfer everything and re-do the layout so I'm hoping it will never come to that
Again I apologise for you guys having to see all that. Spammers are some of the worst scum on the net!
